Our Mission

MahmudofGhazni.com is an educational initiative dedicated to presenting the historically documented truth about Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni (971–1030 CE) and the devastating impact of his 17 raids on Indian civilization, culture, and heritage.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that every Indian has access to the complete, source-backed history of what happened during this era — not the sanitized version found in textbooks, but the full documented record as written by medieval historians themselves.

This is a project of the Bharat Files Initiative, which documents the historically verified impact of medieval and early-modern Islamic rule on Indian civilization.

Our Methodology

We are committed to historical accuracy and scholarly rigor. Our methodology is:

Primary Sources First: Every claim is backed by documentary evidence from medieval chronicles — principally Al-Utbi's Tarikh-i-Yamini, Al-Biruni's Kitab-ul-Hind, Ferishta's Tarikh-i-Ferishta, and Minhaj-i-Siraj's Tabaqat-i-Nasiri.
Cross-Referenced: Where possible, claims are cross-referenced across multiple independent sources, including archaeological evidence from ASI reports.
Scholarly Context: Modern scholarship by historians like R.C. Majumdar, K.S. Lal, Sita Ram Goel, and Arun Shourie provides analytical framework and context.
Transparent Attribution: Every source is clearly cited on our Sources page so that readers can verify claims independently.
No Fabrication: We do not exaggerate, fabricate, or embellish. The documented historical record is devastating enough without embellishment.
